Obituary For Martha Jane Beasley

Martha Jane Beasley was born in Appomattox, Virginia on June 29,1949 to Joseph and Mattie Walker Beasley. She entered into eternal life on June 21, 2023, from her Prospect, Virginia residence.
She was raised in Prospect, Virginia where she began her early childhood education. She moved to Connecticut to continue her education after the closing of the schools.
Martha worked at Garfield Belts in New London, Connecticut in her early adult years. She remained in New London for several years during which time she gave birth to her son, Marlon Beasley.
She returned home to Prospect, Virginia in 1990. She joined Peaks Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her health failed.
Martha was devoted to all of her family and friends. One of her greatest passions was cooking and preparing meals for anyone with whom she came in contact. She loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and playing cards. But of all things she enjoyed, talking on the phone was number one.
Martha was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Mattie Beasley; her son, Marlon Beasley; one brother, Daniel Beasley; two sisters, Etta Mae Beasley and Joyce Mitchell; and one nephew, Loydeeka Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her brother Joseph Beasley (Shirley); of Prospect, Virginia; two sisters, Mattie Lyle of Pamplin, Virginia and Darlene Lee (Elvis) of Meherrin; Virginia, one uncle Albert Beasley of Prospect, Virginia; a special life friend, Dennis Smith of Prospect, Virginia; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Although she loved all of her family, she shared a special bond with: her devoted nieces, Lakeisha Beasley, TaQuita Wilkins, and Katashee Wilder; her nephew, Lamar Beasley; great niece, Kaelyn Smith or her “Poodie” as she often referred to her; and special cousins, her riding partner Barbara Walker and her “good cousin” Brenda Crawley; and devoted friends, Darlene Walker, Sarah Sprague, and Clara Shepherdson.
