Martha Jane Watson, daughter of John Nelson Watson, Sr. and Mattie Woodson Watson,

was born in Buckingham County, Virginia on June 3, 1938.
Martha accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a member of New
Store Baptist Church. She was educated in the Buckingham County Public School System

and was a graduate of Carter G. Woodson High School. After graduation, Martha moved to

Paterson, New Jersey and was employed by Lites Industry and PCV. While in New Jersey, she

also attended Canaan Baptist Church.
Martha retired in 2013 and returned to Buckingham County where she reunited with

her home church, New Store Baptist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by: her parents, John, Sr. and Mattie Watson; brother,
John “Johnny” Watson, Jr.; sisters, Louise Watson and Genevieve “Gee” Watson.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: four sisters, Loretta “Rita” Gamble, Ellen “Polly”

Watson, and Lillian Frazier, all of Paterson, NJ and Doretha “Dodie” Watson of Buckingham

County, VA; one brother, Earl “Pete” Watson of Paterson, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed.
