Mary Elizabeth Daniels was born on May 2, 1934 to Martha Ivory Robertson and Junius Ligon in Pamplin, Virginia. She was raised in Pamplin, where she attended school, and was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church.

There she served as an Usher and was an upstanding member until her last day.

She was a kind, loving daughter and sister, until her life was blessed with the entrance of a baby girl, Sheila, whom she lovingly and proudly cared for despite being a young first time mother.

In search of a better life for her and her daughter, she left Pamplin and was welcomed by her father to settle in Elizabeth, New Jersey. There she lived and worked diligently as a Nurses Aide in Elizabeth General Hospital. It was during this time, that she was introduced to her future devoted husband Andrew Daniels. She continued working hard, being an adoring mother and wife. She was able to purchase a home for her mother, which is a proud accomplishment for anyone devoted to family, working hard out of love.

Her path led her to Bowman Distribution, where she worked for many years and retired in the late 90's. She then relocated back home to her roots in Pamplin, to care for her dear mother until her demise. She focused on and was devoted to family, her grandchildren, and simply peaceful living.

Throughout her life, she remained a proud and faithful Christian who lived her life as a giving, loving, devoted child of Christ whom with she walked everyday of her life. She departed this life on May 18, 2026 after a brief illness, in Lynchburg Virginia.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Andrew Daniels; brother, Harold Harvey; sister, Eula Mae Robertson; her first great granddaughters Janaya "Jenny" Zakaiyah Bailey 'her Darling' and Nyeemah Ali Walker; her beloved great nephew Kevin Burrell; and beloved niece Sonia Walker.

She is survived by her daughter Sheila Chavis (Harold), Goddaughter, Dr.

Sharon Wells (Craig; her sisters, Senora Walker (Bernard), Shirley Avery (James); beloved granddaughters, Zakia Bailey (Casienbi), Ayesha Emerike (Victor); great grandson, Petty Officer Second Class Ahmad Chavis; great-grandsons, Rahman Walker, Elijah Chavis; and great granddaughter, Naya Karai Moreira aka 'Ruby' her 'Darling'. She also leaves behind: a host of loved ones, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends; and some very special friends she made along the way, Harriet Croner, and her very best friends and sisters for life, Frances Wells and May Leverette.
