Obituary For Mary Frances McCall Wilson

Frances grew up in Harlem, New York. She graduated from Mabel Dean Bacon High School. Years later, Frances then married Robert Wilson, and they started a beautiful life together. Throughout her life, Frances was known for her dedicated work ethic and her ability to connect with people. In New York, she worked as a phone operator for Bell Atlantic, a receptionist at the NYC Neat Cleaners store, and later she started to work for Morgan Guaranty Trust Company. Years Later, she moved from New York City to Delaware, where she retired. Afterward, she brought her characteristic charm to Blackstone, Virginia, where she worked at Cato's Fashions, and then later the Slip In gas station. However, her truest and most rewarding vocation was her role as a mother to her four children, but also to an entire community. When she was younger, Frances always stayed incredibly busy with her children, but she also possessed a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. She truly enjoyed being a salesperson and loved the social energy of hosting and attending parties to sell goods. Over the years, she found great success selling Tupperware, copperware, and Avon products, using her natural charisma to build connections wherever she went. Deeply involved in her family's lives,

Frances earned the reputation of being "evervone's mom." Her home was a sanctuary; it was always filled with family, friends, and neighborhood kids. Children's birthday parties routinely evolved into lively, unforgettable gatherings for adults. Her house was the place where children could simply enjoy the magic of being young. Frances was a woman of action when it came to the youth. In the summertime she enjoyed giving the neighborhood kids a break from the city streets, she would regularly gather everyone up and take them to Van Cortlandt Park or the movies. Music, laughter, and hospitality defined her household. It was a completely normal occurrence for Frances to return home from a long day of work only to find her living room packed with teenagers dancing to the latest R&B hits. She loved supporting their joy and frequently went to the local record store to buy new music. Because she could never quite remember the titles of the songs, she would boldly sing the melodies to the clerk at the counter. Incredibly, they always knew exactly which album she was looking for. No matter who walked through her door, Frances fed them, welcomed them, and made them feel like family. Beyond her home life, Frances loved to explore the world and enjoy her own passions. She joined the Traveling Voyagers bowling league in the Bronx, a move that introduced her to her lifelong best friends: Deborah Meacham, Allyson Mackey, and Alberta. Together, they were affectionately known as the "B Girls" and as time went on, the "Golden Girls." For years, this inseparable group filled their lives with adventure, traveling annually to the Caribbean and setting sail on countless cruises, and family gatherings. In her pastime, Frances also expressed her love through creativity; she thoroughly enjoyed crocheting, crafting beautiful blankets for everyone she loved, and found great joy in the meticulous beauty of diamond painting.

Mary Frances lived beautifully, loved fiercely, and left behind a legacy of open doors, full plates, and endless music. Her devotion lives on through her beloved children: Lynda Gee (Ricky), Robert Bruce Wilson Jr. and Shirlev Parker, Svlvia Hockadav (Elliott), and Donald Wilson (Dionne). She leaves behind a rich legacy through her cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life: Odell Killebrew (Ivette), Shane Perry, Jason Wilson and Alycia Cooksey, Darrell Killebrew (Kia), Nicole Mclean (Rob), Kristopher Killebrew (Twanna), Akemi Killebrew and Curtis Harvey, Trevis Wilson, Devon Wilson (Chances), and Isaiah Wilson (Milan), Shaun Brogden, Samual Brogden Sr., Jennifer Johnson, Keshia Gee Harris, and Ricky Gee, Jr. Her legacy continues to blossom through her precious great-grandchildren: Tariq Killebrew, Shaniya Killebrew, Janelle Mclean, Kayla Killebrew, Kourtney Killebrew, Kamiya Killebrew, Kiera Killebrew, Josiaha Killebrew, Mya Mclean, Kristopher Killebrew Jr., Malcom Killebrew, Jocelyn Killebrew, Athena Wilson, Alphonso Wilson, London Killebrew, Davon Brogden, Daequan Brogden, Sion Reed, Kavion Reed, Ricky Gee III, Lauren Johnson, Olivia Gee, Samuel Brogden Jr., James Brogden, and one great-great grand Omari Foster. Her memory will also be treasured by her loving cousins, nieces, and nephews, She also leaves behind a host of so many more loving family members and friends who held a very special place in her heart. She will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the honor of calling her mom, Grandma, Aunt, cousin, friend, or family.
