Melvin Sylvester Wade, was born on October 2, 1962 to Roosevelt and Virginia Wiley Wade. He peacefully entered eternal life at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia on Monday, January 30, 2023. At a very young age, Melvin gave his life to Christ and joined Triumph Baptist Church in Darlington Heights, VA. He received his education through the Prince Edward County Public School System. He began working for Thomasville Furniture in Appomattox, VA and was employed there for twenty-three years, until the factory closed. Melvin worked as an officer for the Piedmont Regional Jail for over ten years, until he became ill in 2020. He always enjoyed helping others and working on old school cars. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Concetta and Marquita Watkins and Sarah Moodie; two sons, Bryan Adams and Anthony Ellis; two granddaughters, Ellen and Evie; three sisters, Joyce Hancock ( John), Martha Campbell, Shelia Green (Chris); three brothers, John Wiley (Shelby), Larry Wade and Steve Wade (Tracey); four aunts, Louise Roebuck, Elizabeth Wiley, Lily Wiley and Doritha Copeland; two uncles, David Copeland (Catherine) and Daniel Copeland ( Joyce) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a devoted friend, Peggy Albanese and a really good friend, Ted Wardell. He will be greatly missed.
