Obituary For Mervin Edward Booker

Mervin Edward Booker was born on January 31, 1961, to the union of George and Catherine Booker in Amelia, Virginia. Mervin transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Odenton, Maryland.

Mervin accepted Christ at an early age and loved and walked with God daily. He received his formal education in Amelia County Schools and later joined the Army National Guards, where he served as a diesel mechanic stationed at Fort Pickett, Virginia. He devoted many of his younger years to working at his family’s logging business; working alongside his father, brothers, uncle, and cousin.

After his time in Virginia, Mervin moved to Odenton, Maryland. There, he became a recognized member of his community, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, or a laugh. His presence in the community was felt by all, and his role as a butcher’s assistant at the local supermarket further solidified his place in the hearts of those around him.

Mervin was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His family was the cornerstone of his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Sarah Booker; Pleasant and Anna Hyde, daughter Christina (Tina) Couch, and grandson Rayqkwon Couch.

Mervin leaves to cherish unforgettable memories: his loving daughters, Katrina Couch and Jessica Rodriguez; loving son, LaTroy Hamilton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nautica Wright (Ariah and Alijah Davis), Jamia Couch (Makenna Walker), Jacari Couch, Zayanna Rodriguez, Saul Rodriguez Jr., Isaiah Butler, and Zaniah Hamilton-James; parents, George and Catherine Booker of Jetersville, VA; four brothers, Juan Booker (Alfreda), Gary Booker, Kermit Booker (Barbara), and Rodney Booker (Katrina); and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
