Michael Odorth Mitchell entered into eternal rest at 9:17pm on May 22, 2026 at Farmville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Farmville, Virginia. He was born July 25, 1957 to the late Odorth and Susie Scott Mitchell.

Michael was very active in his community. He was a member of the Five Forks Hunting Club, Darlington Cumberland he became a member of the North America Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by: his parents Odorth and Susie Mitchell; and his son-in-law, Jeremy Mitchell.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Carolyn Mitchell; eight children, LaWanda of Suffolk, VA, Christine (Rayvon), Joyce, Themeka, and Chrystal of Farmville, VA, Stephanie of Mecklenburg, VA, Michael, Jr. (Dana) of Delaware,and Rodney of Farmville; three stepchildren, Tabitha, Martin (Ashley), and Marcus of Cumberland, VA; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (Albert) of Salisbury, Maryland and Ethel (Donald) of Prospect, VA; one brother, Norvell of Richmond, VA; three aunts, Lillie Wiley of Appomattox, VA, Mary Jennings of Farmville, VA, and Edith Scott of Jamaica, New York; one uncle, Royal Scott of Darlington Heights, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
