Nancy Lillie Bell Bartee was born December 13, 1940. She exchanged
mortality here on earth for eternal life with God in Heaven on
November 16, 2024 at her residence.
Nancy received Christ as her Savior, was baptized, and joined Zion Baptist
Church in Dillwyn, Virginia, where at one time, she was a member of the
choir.
Nancy met and married Arthur “Tucker” Bartee in 1957. Three children
were born to this union.
She was employed for many years by Craddock Terry Shoe Factory in
Dillwyn and Farmville. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas Brown and Helen
Gary Brown: three sisters, Caroline “Tabbie” Holman, Naomi Jones, and
Mary Lee Gary Foster: and two brothers, James Gary and Henry Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 67 years, Arthur
Bartee, Sr.: her children: Arthur Bartee, Jr. (Gail), Helen Polly Bartee
(Tony) and Richard Bartee (Betsy); her grandchildren, Charles, Marcus
and AJ; and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends. She also leaves a
host of special friends: Matthew Swan, Dexter Cox, Shelton Johnson, Ella
Perkins, Shirley Lincoln, Faye Lewis, Doris Bolden, Marcellus and Mary
Bartee, Betty White, Lucy Bartee, L.L. Jones and two very devoted friends,
Bootney and Evelyn Jackson.
