Obituary For Reverend Vincent Eanes
Reverend Vincent Eanes Sr. was born on November 8, 1950 in Prince Edward County to the late Taylor & Gertrude Eanes. He is the fifteenth of twenty-one children born to their union. Saturday, June 28, 2025. Rev Eanes, departed this life at Johnston-Willis hospital in Richmond, VA surrounded by his family.
Rev. Eanes attended and graduated from Prince Edward County High School in 1973. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Zion Hill Baptist church where he served as church Sexton, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of the Adult Church School, Chairman of the Building Committee, and was ordained as a Deacon in 1980.
On May 23, 1992, Rev. Eanes received the degree of Bachelor of Religious Education from the M.C. Allen School of Religion at the VA Seminary College of Lynchburg, VA. Rev. Eanes attended the Bluestone Harmony School in Keysville, VA. He preached his initial sermon on July 31, 2004 and was ordained on March 26, 2006. He served as Pastor of Lone Oak Baptist church of Keysville, VA for 18 years.
Rev. Eanes retired on April 31, 2004 from the VA Dept. of Transportation as a Heavy Equipment Operator and received numerous awards upon his retiring. He was a member of the NAACP and the Prince Edward County Zoning Committee.
Rev. Eanes was preceded in passing by: his parents and several siblings. Rev. Eanes was married to his high school sweetheart Sheila Eanes for 52 years and to this union three sons were born: Vincent Jr. (Shonda), Jawaski (KeShara), and Rashad. They have four grand children: Shariah, Alexis (Yariel), Vilontae, and Jawaski Jr. They have two great-grand children: A’Mia and Alayna. He also leaves to cherish his siblings: McCarthy, Malvin (Shirley), Yvonne, Sylvia, Carrie and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
