Obituary For Robert Anthony Banks

Robert Anthony Banks, Sr. 87 of Dillwyn, Virginia(formerly of Fork
Union,VA) was born August 6, 1936. He departed this life peacefully to his
heavenly home with his faithful daughter (Melissa) by his bed side. He was
the son of the late William R. Banks, Sr. and Elizabeth C. Banks.
Robert joined the St. Joseph Catholic church in Columbia,VA at an
early age.
He was employed as a dump truck driver for T.J.Shipp Trucking Co.
He attended Shiloh and S.C. Abrams schools. He enjoyed watching TV,
nice cars and trucks, playing lottery and listening to music especially guitar.
He was a man of many words and comical at times, He enjoyed being
around people and whomever he encountered he always had something
joking to say to them.
He fought to stay with us, but we saw his body growing weak and tired,
so we had to say good-bye to our dear father.
He is survived by: Two daughters, Melissa Gray- devoted and loyal.
(Anthony) and PaPa’s Baby A’Ayaunna of Dillwyn, VA and Sharon
Johnson(Erwin) of Richmond, VA, Three sons Robert Banks, Jr. -devoted
(Donna) of Goochland, VA, Steven Banks(Hazel) of Esmont, VA and
Kelvin Banks(Tammie) of Scottsville, VA; seven grandchildren; great
grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He also leaves to cherish his memories: In-laws Eugene Willis,
Coriene Nobles and Lenora Willis all of Richmond, VA, Ophelia
Bradley(Edward) of Fredericksburg, VA, Carolyn Baskfield (Curtis) of Glen
Allen, VA.
He was preceded in death: His devoted wife Vera Willis Banks of 66
years, his parents, William and Elizabeth Banks; sister, Loretta Edwards;
and brother, William Banks Jr.
