Mr. Robert Emanuel Canady passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Albany, New York. He was born on March 23, 1960, the only child to the late Robert Canady, Sr. and Shirley Canady. Robert attended P.S.9 Elementary School, Rothschild Junior High School 294 and graduated from George Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn, New York. He was a dedicated Supervisor of Machinery Operations at the Office of General Services (OGS) of New York as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 19 years. Robert also worked for 24 years as a Banquet Supervisor for Hilton Hotel. Robert joined the Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Albany, New York in April 2016 and was baptized in August 2016. Robert served as Vice Chairman of the Trustee Ministry, and a member of the Men of Valor Ministry, Male Choir Ministry, and the Lunchbox Ministry. He was a faithful and dedicated member to the ministry and loved the Lord. Robert loved good music and traveling. He was an avid cross country traveler. Robert was preceded in death by: his parents; uncle, George W. Gregory Jr.; and aunt, Emily Bolden. Robert, fondly known as “Bobby” or “Junior” leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Mrs. Juliet Canady; his children, Cherise Canady, Nakia Tutt, Tavi Graham, Kimberly Canady, and Robert Fowler; step children, Tomitra Faria (Deylon Faria), Toneza Bowen (Nyanka Bowen), and beloved stepson, Nigel D’Andrade. He also leaves to cherish: mother-in-law, Nerleyne Harrison; father-in-law, Roy Harrison; sister-in-law, Audrey Atkins (Ronic Atkins); brother-in-law, Lewie Harrison (Alana Harrison); aunts and uncles, Robert Gregory (Irma), Waverly Gregory, Joseph Gregory (Mable), Earl Gregory and James Gregory (Maxine), Mary Louise Bennett (William), Ann Gregory, Barbara Bethea, Sharon Knight (Ross), Florence Gregory, and Mrs. Nathalie McKenzie; his grandchildren; close friends, Andre Morris, David Nurse, Ed Giles, Eric Williams, and Romain Ballin, Robert Burgess, and Stace & Yousif Djisso to name a few; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
