Obituary For Rosetta Lee Bolden
On Monday, August 22, 2022, Rosetta Lee Bolden went home to be with the Lord. She was the oldest child born, June 23, 1943, to the late Saint Luke and Lurlene Baker Bolden. Rosetta joined Zion Baptist Church at an early age, where she served until her death, attending her last homecoming service on August 7, 2022. She was a 1963 graduate of Maggie L. Walker High School in Richmond, Virginia. She worked at Richmond Memorial Hospital and Children’s Hospital, where she remained until her retirement. She soon got bored and started back working for Henrico County Public Schools until June 2022. Rosetta was known for her radiant smile, heart of gold, joking and playfulness. She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her famous rum cake and 7-Up cake. She loved going out to eat, family gatherings, casinos, hanging out with her sister, growing plants, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play, and fixing Sunday dinners for her baby girl, Vanessa. Every year you could find Rosetta supporting Vanessa’s social club parties with family and friends in tow. Rosetta was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Ernest Bolden; and friend, Wilson Woody. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted daughter, Vanessa Woody; sister, Gloria Bolden; brother, Earl Bolden; sister-in-law, Jackie Bolden; great aunt, Doris Bolden; nieces, Delita, Patricia, Jessica, Jelisa (Vilbert), and Tonya; nephews, Ernest and Jerry; great nieces, Shakiyah and Izara; great nephews, Kiyon and Devyn; great-great niece, Kai’Dince; adopted children (friends of Vanessa) and a host of other relatives and friends.
