Ruby Deloris Lee Bowler, affectionately known as Loris, entered eternal
rest on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from her Burkeville, Virginia residence. She
was born to the late James Franklin Lee and Vivian Josephine Lee. Ruby was
also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving, devoted husband of
William Bowler, Sr. of Burkeville, VA; four loving children, Corey Bowler
( Jennifer), William Bowler, Jr., all of Burkeville, VA, Cocice Bowler of
Farmville, VA, and Anthony Tucker (Victoria) of Crewe, VA, all whom
she raised and loved unconditionally; four sisters, Pennie Jones, ( James)
of Burkeville, VA, Vanessa Taylor (Lawrence) of Rice, VA, Arvel Lee of
Meherrin, VA, and Loretta Clark of Blackstone, VA; one brother, Frank
Roosevelt Lee (Ernestine) of Prospect, VA; six grandchildren; three great
grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
As I sit in Heaven and watch you everyday,
I tried to let you know with signs I never went away.
I hear you when you’re laughing and watch as you sleep.
I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home.
So I try to send you signs to let you know I’m not alone.
Don’t feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me.
Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see.
So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free!
Then I’ll know with every breath you take,
You will be taking one for me.
Weeping may endure for night, but joy cometh in the morning.
