Ruby Joyce Lyle Dungee was born in Prospect, Virginia on March 27, 1944 to the late Dick and Susie Lyle. She departed this life on October 23, 2024 from Bon Secour St. Francis Medical Center in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Ruby accepted God into her life at an early age at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church in Pamplin, Virginia. She attended Robert Russa Moton Schools until the schools closed.

She married the late Warren Leon Dungee, Sr. in 1961 and to this union, four children were born. Her son, Warren Leon Dungee, Jr. preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: two brothers, Alfred and James Lyle; and one sister, Emma Goode.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: three daughter, Janice Marshall (Charles), Angela Dungee-Farley (Dennis), and Sherry D.B Paige (Joe); five grandchildren, Candice Marshall and Victoria Marshall of Pamplin, Virginia, Collin and Marcus Brathwaite of Richmond, Virginia, and Daniel Farley of Queens, New York; two great grandchildren, Collin Kingston and Cayden Brathwaite of Richmond, Virginia; one sister, Pastor Betty L. Jones of Farmville, Virginia; one brother, Paul Lyle (Sarah); sister in laws, Lovonna Lyle of Farmville, Virginia, Evelyn Greene and Sadie Harley of East Orange, New Jersey; one brother in law, Samuel Dungee (Corrine); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruby Dungee will be held Friday, November 1, at 2pm at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church in Prospect, with interment in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service and a public viewing will be the day before from 2-6pm
