Obituary For Rux Arnold Taylor

On November 16, 2024, after a long fought battle, Rux Arnold
Taylor departed this earthly life at Centra- Southside Community
Hospital in Farmville, Virginia, to a better life with his Heavenly Father.
He was born on November 4, 1940 to Ocie and Odessa Rux Taylor.
At an early age, he was baptized and joined Mt. Zion Second Baptist
Church, where he served as church sexton and as a Trustee. He attended
services as much as he could until his health declined. He received his
education through Prince Edward County Schools, until schools closed.
He was employed by several local factories, including Craddock Terry
Shoe Factory, Stackpole, and Westvaco. He enjoyed watching baseball,
wrestling, and westerns.
On December 24, 1962, Rux was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss
Irene Dupuy, who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by
his parents, Ocie and Odessa Taylor; siblings, St. Clair, Jim, Mary, Irene,
Edith, Burnette, Earnest, Bobby, Zena, and Tom. Oh! What a wonderful
reunion that will be.
Rux leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Ray (Kathy) of San Diego,
California; a devoted daughter, Karen (Ron) of Green Bay, VA; two
wonderful grandchildren, Akeem (Dominique) of Drakes Branch, VA,
and J’Tae of Green Bay, VA; one great grandson, SeKani; and a nephew
that he raised, Lee (Tricia) of Concord, North Carolina; and a host of
other relatives and friends.
