Obituary For Samuel Peachy Wayne Jr.

Samuel P. Wayne, Jr., was born November 12, 1930 to the late Samuel, Sr. and Nora Wayne of Buckingham, Virginia. He went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Centra Southside Community Hospital.

Sammy was baptized, at an early age, in Buckingham, Virginia and was a faithful member of Warminster Baptist Church. He served as Chairman of the Trustees Board for many years. Sammy was a member of the Buckingham Lining Bar Gang and performed at Railroads Festivals.

After high school, Samuel moved to Stanford, Connecticut to live and work. He was employed with the Stanford Sanitation Department for many years. Upon retirement, he returned to Buckingham, Virginia to live out his golden years. You could often find him riding the backroads on his motorcycle.

Sammy was preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel Sr. and Nora; his son, Samuel III; two sisters, one brother, and his first wife.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lillie I. Wayne; sister, Pauline Lee; and a host of stepchidlren, grand chidlren, great grand children, neices, nephew, cousins and friends.
