Stanley is Buckingham County grown. Born to Mattie and James Lee, into a family of two girls and five boys. His was a large but very close-knit family. Stanley attended school in Buckingham County. Very athletic in his teenage years, he enjoyed playing softball and basketball. In fact, he fancied himself as a bit of a basketball star; playing first string in high school on the team that took Buckingham to the State Championship. It was during this time in his High School life that he courted his lovely wife to be, Antoinette Washington.
