Obituary For Tammie Marie Chambers

God opened His gates and welcomed Tammie Marie Chambers to His Kingdom and eternal peace on February 19, 2024, from Lynchburg General Hospital, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Tammie was born February 18, 1969, and raised in Buckingham County, VA by her parents, Lacy and Mary Booker chambers. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, John Chambers and Timothy Chambers; a sister, Pamela Braxton; grandson, Elijah Lamar Jones; and granddaughter, Makiah Carter. Tammie was educated in the Buckingham County Public School System. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior, was baptized, and joined Slate River Baptist Church in Dillwyn, VA. She had a heart of gold and cared a lot for her grandchildren. She would do anything for them, as she would for own children. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for any of them. She was a listener. She loved hard. She cared and gave them advice, and definitely told it like it was. Her family loved her and are all saddened that she had to go, but God knows best. She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy: three daughters, Tonya Jones (Terrell Jones), Sabrina Chambers (Antwoine Harvey), and Paula Chambers (Andrew Carter); one son, Paul Lee Ayres (Holly Grimes); six grandchildren, Quantez Jones, Takyra Jones, Simaya Simmons, A’Breanna Harvey, Josiah Reeves, and Jeremiah Reeves; two sisters, Linda Chambers Brown (Govenor) and Velma Chambers; three brothers, William Lee Chambers (Mamie), Buddy Chambers, and Lacy “Ran” Chambers; one great aunt, Janie Jones; one great uncle, William Edward Booker; devoted friends, Paul Ayres and Clayton Braxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
