Thomas Branch Brown was born on November 5, 1955, in Farmville, Virginia, and passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at the age of 70.

Thomas was a dedicated and hardworking man who proudly served four years in the United States Army. He furthered his education by earning degrees from Piedmont Virginia Community College and Liberty University. He went on to devote 30 years of his career to the Virginia Department of Corrections, serving his community with commitment and distinction.

Thomas enjoyed following the Dallas Cowboys, working out, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family. He will be remembered for the time he shared with those he loved and the lasting memories he created throughout his life.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, James A. Brown; his mother, Sally Sarah Hicks; and his brothers, Alfred Holt (Carolyn) Holt, James Brown Jr., and Joseph Brown.

Thomas leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara Jean Brown; his children, Rodney (Retta), CaThomas, Tyler, and Madison; his grandchildren, Deja, Deleya, Kennedy, Jordan, and Jacelyn; his brother, Larry; his sisters, Martha, Mary, and Barbara; his cousins, Gladys and Sylvia; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Thomas will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life, service, dedication, and love for his family will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
