Obituary For Troy Andrew Banks

Troy Andrew “Banksta” Banks was born on February 7, 1976, in Farmville Virginia to Therman Banks and Shirley Ford. Troy gained his wings and entered his eternal rest on Monday, August 15, 2022. At an early age, Troy was baptized and joined the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Farmville, Virginia. He received his education through the Prince Edward County Public Schools System where he played various varsity sports. He graduated with the class of 1994. Upon graduation, Troy was employed by the Nottoway Correctional Center as a Correctional Officer, and trained many other officers. He was a dedicated and hard worker for what would have been 27 years this fall. Troy had a warm and caring heart. You could always count on getting a good laugh if he were around. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, consistently spreading his love and affection. Troy enjoyed his family, his friends, his dark glasses, and fitted hats. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. His favorite thing to do was to be there for his children. Troy became a member of the Randolph Masonic Lodge #30 by demonstrating high levels of commitment and involvement. He rose in rank and became a Master Mason in 2021. Troy’s memories will be cherished by: his parents, Therman and Shirley Banks; his brother, Therman, Jr. (Tonya); his four children, Pashion, Teequan, De’Murie, and D’Mayia; his nieces, Shy’keria, Ty’keria, Jordin, Mia, and Chynna; his nephew Orlando; his grandchildren Kamari and Kross; his devoted and close friends, James Wood, II, Maurice Fowlkes, Kevin Williams, and Darangi Harrison; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends. Troy was one of my babies at Prince Edward Elem School. He was a kind, happy-go-lucky students. At times he would have others laughing at his jokes. Whenever I saw him in later years he'd always had a kind greeting and smile.
