anada Lee Holliman was born December 4, 1953 to to the late Braxton Vanada and Hattie White Holliman. Barney, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was the oldest of four children. On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom, mercy and grace quietly and peacefully called our loved one to his earthly home.

He joined St. James AME Church at an early age. He attended and graduated from the Prince Edward County Public School System. Vanada’s first love was trucking. He drove long distance, over the road, and some local hauling. Due to his declining health, he had to give up driving.

In 2000, Vanada was united in Holy Matrimony with Ms. Alisa Scott of Prospect, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Braxton V. Holliman and Hattie Holliman Saunders; foster parents, Ethel and Willis Watts; two brothers, Gene Holliman and Andrew Holliman; and one uncle, Matthew Holman.

Vanada leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Alisa; two sons, Shalone Robinson (Marlene) and Harry Scott Jr.; daughter, Dominique Lee (Eric); one grandson, Xavier Lee; two granddaughters, Salonna Robinson and Qadira Lee; one sister, Patricia Holliman (Linwood); loving foster mother, Mary Betty Johnson; foster brother, Raymond Johnson (Willie Mae); loving aunt, Helen Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
