Vivian Cosby Minyard, daughter of the late Reverend G. Grant and Ella Moody Cosby, was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on October 9, 1917. She entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2020. As a child she lived in Virginia, and at an early age, accepted Christ and was baptized at Sharon Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Shelton Anderson. She attended Cumberland County Public Schools and then moved to New York City to seek employment. While there, she met and married Charles Alvin, and two children were born to this union
