On Monday, June 13, 2022, our beloved Wilbur departed this earthly life to begin a better life with his Heavenly Father. Wilbur Marcur DIllard was born on May 24, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to Coley and Othelia Dillard. At a young age, Wilbur accepted Christ as his personal savior at Oak Grove Church and later joined the First Nottoway Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his passing. He lifted his voice in song to the Lord as a member of the choir and also served on the Trustee Board and Head of the kitchen ministry.

Wilbur was educated in the Prince Edward County Public School system. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country. Prior to his discharge, Wilbur married Benita Ervin and to this union, two children were born, Justin and Kristen. After completing his military service, he began his career at the Nottoway Correctional Facility. After decades of serving as a corrections officer, he retired to fulfill his passions and kick up his feet. Wilbur had a passion for his family, fishing and cooking. He was known for being a provider, family man and having the best cookouts. His love for life and Christ was evident to anyone that knew him.
