Obituary For William Cecil Chambers
Obituary William Cecil Chambers, the second son of the late James and Mary Chambers transitioned to Glory on August 17, 2022. Born November 30, 1958, he grew up in Buckingham County, Virginia until the family moved to Newport News, VA. William graduated from Warwick High School. There, he recognized a gift for carpentry. As a teenager, he worked for Piland Construction Company, where he was mentored by his cousin, Master Carpenter Jerry Smith. His unique skills afforded him the opportunity to utilize his talent from coast to coast. His room additions, decks, porches, and sheds can be found throughout the Hampton Roads area. Because of his construction expertise, even in his illness, he was called upon for consultation and advice. William also worked several years in civil service as an exterminator on Fort Monroe. William began a walk with Christ at an early age. Growing up he attended Messiah Baptist Church, and Saint Matthew Reformed African Methodist Church, in Newport News, VA. He declared an ever-increasing faith in Christ Jesus until the end.
